Wife of the former registrar of the Ambrose Alli Unversity, Ekpoma, Edo State, Mrs. Kate Edokpayi, was yesterday found dead after committing suicide.
Her husband, Mr. Larry Edokpayi, discovered her body hanging down the ceiling in one of the rooms in their boy’s quarters.
Sources close to the family said frustration over her health challenges might have led her to commit suicide, as she left no suicide note.
According to the sources, she had repeatedly expressed frustration over her inability to get cure for her diabetic condition.
The husband had suspected his wife was kidnapped after a long fruitless search, before he was advised to check the boy’s quarters.
The man, who recently retired from the service of the university, could not believe his eyes when he forced open the door of the boy’s quarters which was bolted from behind. His wife’s body was seen dangling down the ceiling.
Before her tragic death, Mrs Edokpayi was an Assistant Director with the Edo State Ministry of Education.
